Common applications
Chips and salty snacks, frozen vegetables and meals, candy, produce, cheese, ice and powders. If it is packed on a vertical or horizontal form-fill-seal machine, it runs on rollstock. It often costs less per package than pre-made bags, because the bag is formed on your own machine.
Film structures
Rollstock can be a single printed polyethylene (PE) or polypropylene (PP) film, or a lamination that pairs a printed outer layer with a sealant layer for seal strength. Clear, white and metallized films are all available, and cold seal rollstock seals with pressure instead of heat, a good fit for chocolate, candy and bar wrappers. We match the structure to your product and to the sealing conditions and speed of your machine.
Printing and registration
Graphics are flexo printed in up to 8 colors, with eye marks placed where your machine reads them, so every bag is cut and sealed in register. Inks are matched to your brand, and in a lamination the print sits safely between the layers.
Roll specifications
We set up the job to your web width, repeat length, core size, roll diameter and unwind direction. Share the specs from your machine, or a roll that already runs well, and we will match it.
Why Metro
Printing and laminating are done in house in Brooklyn by a team that knows how film behaves on a packing line. Typical lead time is 3–4 weeks from approved artwork.
